Overview
Create a gig poster for Billie Holiday’s concert.
Problem: Design a poster that will refer to the artist’s music without being to obvious.
Solution: Creating a poster that would captivate the audience with mystery and beauty. Without giving too much away.
My Process
It was a long process consisting of listening to the music, researching the artist’s background, reading the lyrics, writing down associations.
I wanted the poster to have the image of a singer, but not have it. I decided to veil the head with flowers and butterflies, as well as employ the metaphor of a black panther for her voice. This animal has a soft walk, but possesses the great power.
